Public Speaking Instructors (Freelance)
Who We Are
Founded in 2018, Dialogic Academy is Singapore's trusted partner for debate, public speaking, and speech & drama. We work with students aged 4 to 18 across private classes at our partner centres and in the over 40 schools we work with, helping them become critical thinkers and confident communicators. We don't just teach students what to say. We teach them how to think.
Role Overview
As our private programmes grow, we're looking for several dynamic Public Speaking Instructors to coach students aged 7 to 16 in classes at our centres. These freelance roles suit educators who enjoy being in the room with students and helping them find their voice, deliver with confidence and think on their feet.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver public speaking lessons to students aged 7–16 in private small-group classes at our partner centres, using Dialogic Academy's curriculum and oracy framework.
- Coach students in voice projection, articulation, body language, structured speech-writing and managing nerves.
- Help students prepare for school-based oral or presentation assessments where relevant.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a structured, well-managed and encouraging classroom, adapting delivery to different ages and confidence levels.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Speech & Drama, Theatre, Communication or Education; Trinity College London or LAMDA qualifications preferred.
- Diploma/degree from NUS, LASALLE, NAFA or equivalent also considered.
- At least 1 year of experience teaching or coaching public speaking, debate or speech & drama.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Registration with MOE as an Instructor/Trainer (MOE IRS) is a plus.
- Energetic, patient and confident, with the ability to engage primary and secondary school students.
- Reliable, professional and able to work independently.
Engagement Details
- Engagement type: Per quarter / Per engagement
- Programmes: Private classes (small group) / School programmes and workshops
- Work location: Dialogic Academy partner centres / MOE Schools
- Age group: 7 to 16 years old
- Schedule: Flexible, based on class timetables (some weekday and weekend availability expected)
- Remuneration: Competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications
