Head of Credit
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective credit management strategies. Supervise the appraisal and assessment of loan applications. Ensure credit decisions are based on sound financial and risk analysis. Monitor the institution's loan portfolio and identify emerging credit risks. Review credit proposals and make recommendations for approval. Ensure compliance with approved credit policies and lending procedures. Oversee loan monitoring and recovery activities Analyze portfolio performance, delinquency levels, and recovery trends. Develop strategies to minimize non-performing loans and credit losses. Prepare regular credit performance reports for management. Provide guidance and support to credit officers and other lending staff.
Requirements
Degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. Relevant professional qualifications are an advantage. 5–7 years' relevant credit/banking experience. Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment and portfolio management. Excellent analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and leadership skills.
