Role Description

The Year 1 Teacher will deliver engaging lessons that build core skills in literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies for early primary learners. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and preparing lesson plans, teaching according to the curriculum, assessing learner progress, maintaining accurate records, and providing feedback to learners and families.

The role involves creating a positive classroom environment, managing learner behavior, supporting individual learning needs, and integrating play-based and interactive activities. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues on school activities, attend staff meetings and training, and contribute to school events and initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Weija-Gbawe Municipal District.

Qualifications

Relevant teaching qualification or diploma/degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Proven classroom teaching experience with early primary or lower primary learners. Strong lesson planning, classroom management, and learner assessment skills. Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English. Ability to create inclusive, learner-centered, and engaging classroom environments. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, attend professional development, and support school activities. Familiarity with Ghanaian primary curriculum or similar educational standards is an advantage.
