*The role*

We?re looking for an investigative reporter who has an appetite for in- depth journalism, as well as a track record of developing sources and landing scoops.

*Key responsibilities*

• Writing in-depth stories for BIV?s newspaper and magazine portfolio.
• Original investigations into B.C. businesses, institutions and public policy using corporate filings, court records, FOI requests and your own data analysis.
• Developing and maintaining industry and government sources.
• Filing breaking news stories for online.
• Working with colleagues on collaborative feature packages.
• Contributing research and editorial insights to annual publications like BC500, Book of Lists and Forty under 40.

*Required qualifications*

• We are looking for a seasoned journalist with newsroom experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the B.C. business community and provincial politics.
• Exceptional writing and fact-checking skills, as well as legal literacy.
• Expertise in Canadian Press style.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Strong organizational skills for managing both short-term and long-term projects.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

$70,000-85,000 annually

*Location*

Vancouver. This is a hybrid position in which reporters are in the newsroom Tuesday to Thursday, with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
