Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field .

Typically 6–10+ years of experience in chartering, shipbroking, commercial shipping, or freight operations.

Strong knowledge of dry bulk/general cargo/tanker chartering , depending on the company's business.

Excellent knowledge of Charter Parties, voyage estimation, laytime and demurrage .

Strong negotiation and commercial decision-making skills.

Good understanding of bunker economics, port costs, Suez Canal/transit costs, and voyage profitability .

Strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, brokers, cargo owners and agents .

Excellent English communication and contract-reading skills.

Strong analytical, leadership, and business-development capabilities.
