Valuation & Portfolio Operations Associate
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Valuation & Portfolio Operations Associate to support our fund operations, portfolio monitoring, valuation, audit coordination and related administrative processes. This role works closely across the organization with the Management Team, Investment Team, IT, Finance, and Compliance teams, as well as with the Fund Administrator, portfolio companies, and external auditors. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with detailed financial information, managing recurring processes, coordinating across multiple stakeholders and taking ownership of deadlines and priorities. As part of our continued focus on enhancing operational efficiency and organizational capabilities, the role will also lead the development and implementation of systems for internal data management, with a particular focus on leveraging AI and digital tools. This includes designing, building, and operating scalable processes and workflows to streamline reporting, data management, and other operational activities across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Fund Operations
- Create, maintain and distribute portfolio company lists for each fund.
- Update portfolio records regularly, including new investments,fundraising activities, share transfers and changes in ownership.
- Coordinate with the Investment Team to ensure portfolio information is accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with the Fund Administrator on changes to fund shareholding and portfolio company information.
- Maintain accurate records of fund-related deposits and withdrawals, including investments, collections and distributions.
- Reconcile and update monthly records based on bank statements and other supporting documents.
Valuation & Audit
- Coordinate with Investment Partners and portfolio companies to obtainannual trial balances and relevant financial information, including BalanceSheet and Profit & Loss statements.
- Review and consolidate financial information received from portfolio companies and confirm key balances and KPIs.
- Support the annual fund audit process, including the preparation and calculation of portfolio company valuations based on funding status, financial information and other relevant data.
- Prepare and maintain valuation-related schedules and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate investment confirmation requests sent by external auditors to portfolio companies.
- Track responses, follow up with portfolio companies where required, review the information received and assist with responding to auditor queries.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, fund administrators and auditors to ensure information is provided accurately and within agreed timelines.
AI & Process Improvement
- Explore and use AI tools where appropriate to improve efficiency and streamline routine processes.
What We're Looking For
- 4–6 years of relevant working experience, preferably in fund operations, investment operations, accounting, audit, valuation or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with financial data and detailed numbers.
- Good organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills, with confidence working across internal teams, portfolio companies and external service providers.
- Able to work independently while also being a supportive and collaborative team member.
- A thoughtful and considerate approach when working with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Comfortable with recurring, deadline-driven and project-based work.
- Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills and a willingness to learn new digital tools.
- Curiosity and an interest in using AI and technology to improve the way work is done.
- Experience with valuation, fund accounting or audit processes would be an advantage.
