Education:
No degree, certificate or diploma.
Work site environment:
Fruit and vegetable combination farming. Outdoors.
Tasks:
- Monitoring animal health.
- Maintain financial and production records.
- Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
- Maintain livestock performance records.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
- Supervise maintenance and repair services.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders.
- Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens.
- Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Plan and organize daily operations.
- Organize planting, cultivating and crop harvesting activities.
- Monitor animal behaviour.
- Manage feed inventory activities .
- Explain required standards to agricultural workers .
