BIM Technician

A BIM Technician creates, develops, and manages detailed 3D digital models of buildings and infrastructure using BIM software. They work with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to produce accurate drawings, models, schedules, and construction information.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and update 3D BIM models.

Prepare architectural, structural, or MEP drawings.

Use software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar BIM tools.

Coordinate models from different disciplines and identify clashes.

Produce construction drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and schedules.

Follow project standards, BIM protocols, and drawing requirements.

Make revisions based on engineers' and architects' instructions.

Maintain accurate project documentation and model data.

Work with project teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements / Skills:

Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction, MEP Engineering, or a related field.

Good knowledge of BIM principles and workflows.

Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and preferably AutoCAD.

Knowledge of Navisworks and BIM coordination is an advantage.

Ability to read and understand technical/construction drawings.

Good understanding of building construction and materials.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work to deadlines.

Previous BIM experience is preferred for experienced positions.
