  1. JOB SUMMARY

The Green Building Project Engineer supports the Project Manager on all technical work handled by the Green Building team. The role covers green building certification projects (LEED, LIFE, EDGE, BREEAM, HQE) and related studies: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), energy modelling, daylight modelling, thermal comfort studies, rainwater sizing, site assessment, Level 1 energy audits, and carbon and sustainable-finance compliance (CBAM, EU Taxonomy). The engineer works independently on technical tasks under the Project Manager's supervision.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Green building certification

  • Prepare certification submissions and resubmissions, and respond to reviewer comments.
  • Do the credit calculations: rainwater harvesting, indoor water use, lighting power density (LPD) and sustainable materials.
  • Prepare commissioning documentation for certification.

Building performance studies

  • Run energy models, propose optimisation strategies and write the reports.
  • Run daylight models, propose optimisation strategies and write the reports.
  • Visit sites to do Level 1 energy audits, and write audit reports with recommended energy-saving measures.

LCA and carbon compliance

  • Carry out LCA studies with One Click LCA and propose ways to reduce embodied carbon.
  • Help calculate and report embedded emissions under CBAM.

Project coordination

  • Keep the Project Manager updated on progress, deadlines and issues.
  • Attend internal and client meetings with the Project Manager.
  • Work with clients, design teams and contractors to collect project data.
  • Check the quality and accuracy of your own deliverables before submission.
  • Share technical knowledge with junior team members when needed.
  1. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Building Services (MEP), Environmental Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in green building consulting, energy modelling or a related field.
  • LEED Green Associate / LEED AP or EDGE Expert is a plus.

Technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of green building standards: LEED, EDGE and BREEAM.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1 and 55.
  • Hands-on use of DesignBuilder and One Click LCA.
  • Knowledge of CBAM and the EU Taxonomy is an advantage.

Skills and attributes
