Asia Pacific Exchange Pte. Ltd. (“APEX”) (www.asiapacificex.com) is the 3rd MAS licensed derivatives Exchange in Singapore. Lead by a group of visionary leaders, APEX lists futures and other derivative products for a wide spectrum of global investors to manage their trading and price risks. APEX’s clearing house, APEX Clear, offers innovative clearing and settlement services across multi-asset classes the exchange lists.

The candidate will support the Risk Management department.

The Job Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for oversighting the Clearing Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management New Product Governance, Outsourcing, Stress Testing, as well as Business Continuity Management functions of the Exchange and Clearing House and other group affiliates.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, managing and reviewing APEX’s Risk Management framework, strategies, systems, control, policies and procedures, in line with industry best practices as well as MAS’s requirement.
  • Responsible for managing, monitoring skilled and motivating Risk Management team to achieve the department’s as well as the organization’s goals and business objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the company has effective risk management and control processes, reliable risk measurement and reporting systems, and competent staff for sound risk management.
  • Working closely with the management team to understand the company’s business strategy, nature of the business activities, new products, and material modifications to existing and new products.
  • Reporting to the Board of Directors with information on all potentially material risks facing the company, including those relevant to the company’s risk profile, capital and liquidity needs.
  • Communicating with MAS for the risk polices, new product approval and other risk functions.

Education Qualification:

Minimum degree from reputable institutions majoring in Risk Management, Finance, Economics and/or Business

Experience And Skills:

  • 15 years relevant working experience in financial institutions or exchange business is preferred
  • Must be comfortable with data crunching and presenting the data to Management
  • Must having knowledge in risk management for derivative products
  • Monitor, identify, assess and report risks of the company
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of market risk models applied in clearing (stress testing and liquidity, etc.)
  • Must have experience working in a management capacity and must have experience running a team
  • Should possess strong integrity and work ethics
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with management, directors and peers
  • Good command of English and Chinese in order to liaise with Chinese counterparties
