Production Controller (Ordnance)
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and -operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.
Major duties
- Prepare work orders based on manufacturing schedules developed to meet customer requirements for production, research and development, commercial and support mission items
- Schedule workload into shops and support areas for assigned production items
- Review requirements on master schedules using a material resource planning software
- Manage multiple drawing number line items and production programs setting production and shipment schedules
- Coordinate with Supply Division and the Planning Group to execute production and projects
Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) preparing production plans for manufacture of products such as mortars, howitzers and/or subassemblies; (2) analyzing production operations to determine the cause of production delays; (3) monitoring production schedules to prevent scheduling conflicts, labor shortages, or skill imbalances; and (4) utilizing automated data processing systems/equipment to prepare charts, graphs, spread sheets, and/or reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08)
