Responsibilities:

Spend significant time in the field visiting markets, distributors, and outlets across all three states; this is not a desk-based role. Drive distribution expansion: increase numeric and weighted distribution, open new outlets, and improve product availability and visibility. Recruit, coach, performance-manage and retain a team of territory/sales officers and merchandisers; build a strong bench of talent. Manage and grow relationships with distributors/key accounts Monitor stock levels, credit exposure, secondary sales, and route-to-market efficiency. Own territory planning, set targets by distributor/route, track daily/weekly performance, and course-correct in real time. Lead and monitor trade execution, promotions, merchandising standards, and competitor activity tracking. Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to management. Ensure full compliance with company policies, credit control guidelines, and reporting timelines. Build and manage teams of area managers and medical representatives

Requirements:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree Minimum 5+ years in field sales/distribution and regional/territory manager capacity. Proven, numbers-backed record of target achievement (please be ready to share performance history in interviews). Deep understanding of route-to-market, distributor management and pharmaceutical market. Must be based in Kano and travel extensively across Jigawa, Bauchi and Gombe. Must have a solid network among hospitals and pharma distributors.

Candidate Profile (Superlative Performer):

We need someone with a demonstrable, quantifiable track record of outperforming targets, not just meeting them A consistent history of exceeding sales targets (top 10–20% performer in previous roles), with evidence/numbers to back it up. Who has made sales of least 75 million and more monthly for current company Prior success specifically in Northern Nigerian pharmaceutical sales, ideally with direct experience in Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi or Gombe markets. Strong existing relationships with distributors and trade in the territory, being able to hit the ground running. A visible, hands-on leadership style, comfortable in the market, not just in review meetings. Resilience and ownership, someone who solves problems on the spot rather than escalating everything. Fluency in Hausa is strongly preferred, given the territory.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Revenue/volume target achievement (monthly/quarterly/annual). New outlets, numeric/weighted distribution. Target achievement of direct reports, attrition, and capability development. Market share movement versus competitors in territory.
