Manager, Regional Business Planning
Job Description
Lead regional business development and strategic planning for value-added architectural and processed glass solutions across Asia and Oceania, translating customer, design, technical and commercial needs into sustainable growth initiatives.
Conduct market and competitor analysis covering products, pricing, technologies, applications, customer segments and market positioning, and convert findings into actionable recommendations for management.
Develop and coordinate technical-commercial proposals for architects, contractors, processors, installers, distributors and other project stakeholders, balancing design intent, product performance, supply capability and commercial viability.
Develop and manage distributors, agents and other channel partners, including identifying opportunities in specialised application segments, supporting sales planning and monitoring partner performance, credit exposure and commercial risks.
Support preparation of annual, medium-term and long-term business plans, budgets, strategic priorities and implementation roadmaps for the business.
Conduct feasibility studies by integrating market demand, operational requirements, financial returns and business risks.
Coordinate capacity allocation and supply-chain priorities with production sites, suppliers, Japan Headquarters, regional offices and internal functions to align market requirements with manufacturing and delivery capabilities.
Prepare monthly management reports and updates for the Managing Director and Japan Headquarters.
Support regional portfolio optimisation, business transformation and other cross-functional strategic projects assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
- At least 4–6 years of relevant experience in sales and B2B business development, including experience in technical/solution sales.
- At least 2 years of business or corporate planning experience involving feasibility studies, capital investment evaluation, manufacturing assets or production-capacity analysis.
- Business-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese, equivalent to JLPT N1, to prepare reports, discuss technical and commercial matters, and coordinate effectively with Japan Headquarters and other overseas offices.
- Strong knowledge of architectural glass products, applications, processing and installation considerations, together with the ability to engage architects, contractors, glass processors, installers and channel partners.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate market data, profitability, investment assumptions, operational trade-offs and business risks and present practical recommendations.
- Demonstrated capability in strategic planning, market and competitive analysis, portfolio management and cross-functional project coordination.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to work across commercial, technical, manufacturing and corporate functions in different countries and cultures.
- Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects from opportunity assessment and proposal development through planning, coordination and management reporting.
- Able to work independently in a regional role while collaborating closely with senior management, Japan Headquarters, production sites, sales teams and external business partners.
