Senior DevOps Engineer

Company Overview: Zocks is an AI platform transforming how financial advisors work. Starting in the US financial services market, we're building technology that supports advisors across their entire workflow - from sales and meeting preparation to note-taking, follow-ups, scheduling, email, document intelligence, reporting, and integrations with the systems they use every day.

Zocks is headquartered in San Francisco, while our entire R&D organization - Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and Infrastructure - is based in Budapest. This means our Budapest teams don't just execute on a product built elsewhere: they're directly responsible for shaping the product, technology, and how we build them as we grow. Location: Budapest, XI., Science Park (On-site Monday to Thursday, Remote on Fridays)

Why we're hiring for this role: We’re rapidly expanding and in need of a Senior DevOps Engineer to fully develop and manage our cloud infrastructure capabilities. We're looking for someone who can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to elevate our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency to support our growing needs.

Key challenges you will work on every day: Building and managing an infrastructure with a heavy emphasis on being multi region

Optimizing network topology for the best possible connectivity, latency and throughput for end users

Creating and maintaining our delivery pipeline from the developer machines to production

Participate in a shared on-call rotation (shared equally in a team of 4-6) to support production systems. We focus on sustainable operations, low alert noise, and continuous reliability improvements.

Most of this applies to you: Deep understanding of AWS (EC2, Networking, RDS), ideally also some familiarity with Azure and GCP

Expert understanding of Linux

Solid scripting skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, Java

Solid knowledge of private and public networking (VPN, ISPs, Firewalls)

Proficiency in managing multi cluster container environments, preferably with Kubernetes

Experience in building monitoring with valuable insights for operations, development and product

Experience in building software delivery pipelines from PR to Deployment

Preference for a solid understanding of immutable infrastructures and IaC tooling (Terraform)

Anything you build can run in any environment from dev machines to public cloud and private data centers

Requirements: 5+ years relevant experience (DevOps/Cloud Engineering)

Strong English and Hungarian communication skills

Experience working in complex technical organization across global offices/locations in an Agile environment

Experience working with startups and AI technologies is an advantage
