Your tasks

  • Own the investor and deal pipeline in our CRM, with each opportunity qualified, staged from lead to mandate to close, and assigned a next action.
  • Profile investors and Investors Club members, understand precisely what each is seeking, and match them to vetted opportunities.
  • Distinguish what each company needs, whether a financial investor, an industrial or joint-venture partner, or debt, and route it accordingly.
  • Prepare investee companies on advisory and structuring retainers for investment: teasers, information memoranda, financial models and data rooms.
  • Carry interest from W2A Connect forums, deal rooms and missions into a structured follow-up cadence, so that expressions of interest advance to term sheets.
  • Structure the capital and joint-venture side of industrial market-entry mandates, working with Finance on margin validation and Legal on every agreement.
  • Coordinate advisers, development finance institutions, government counterparts and sponsors through due diligence to financial close.
  • Negotiate retainers, mandates and facilitation fees, and ensure they are documented and collected.
  • Run investor onboarding and investee onboarding as separate, well-defined processes, and report pipeline movement and expected closings to the Head of W2A Impact Capital.

What success looks like in 12 months

  • The pipeline is a reliable management tool: every opportunity has a stage, an owner and a next step.
  • Priority transactions have moved measurably towards close, and the first have closed.
  • Capital facilitated has risen substantially and meets what our partners expect of us.
  • Investors Club members receive relevant, well-prepared opportunities and prompt follow-through.
  • W2A Impact Capital's retainer and facilitation income is growing on the strength of completed deals.

Requirements

  • Experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, DFI investment or transaction advisory, with deals taken to close.
  • Strong commercial and financial judgement, and the ability to read a business plan and a financial model critically.
  • Credibility with investors and sponsors, and persistence over long transaction cycles.
  • Experience of cross-border investment into African markets; exposure to Gulf, European or Asian investors is an advantage.
  • A closer's discipline: you measure your work by what you complete
