Maximo, Cognos, DB2 & Azure Technical Lead / Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maximo, Cognos, DB2 & Azure Technical Lead / Architect to provide end-to-end technical architecture and governance for a major Maximo upgrade and migration programme within the Aerospace & Defence sector.

The programme involves the technical upgrade and lift-and-shift migration of an existing Maximo 7.6 environment running on Oracle to Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.x running on DB2 , hosted in Azure Cloud .

The successful candidate will provide architecture leadership across Maximo, DB2, Azure, Cognos and enterprise integrations, ensuring technical consistency, security, performance and successful delivery across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end technical architecture leadership for the MAS upgrade and migration.
• Design and govern solutions across Azure, Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) and DB2 .
• Lead the integration and technical architecture for the Cognos upgrade .
• Provide cross-workstream technical governance and architectural oversight .
• Design and optimise solutions for performance, scalability and security.
• Design Maximo integrations with enterprise applications and platforms.
• Define and govern API and middleware integration patterns .
• Design secure data exchange and integration patterns.
• Establish and maintain enterprise integration governance standards.
• Perform upgrade impact analysis and identify technical remediation requirements.
• Review existing Maximo designs and determine changes required for MAS 9.x.
• Support technical decision-making across architecture, integration and infrastructure workstreams.
• Work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve complex architectural issues.
• Ensure solutions align with security, compliance and enterprise architecture requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong Maximo / Maximo Application Suite architecture experience.
• Proven experience leading MAS architecture and technical design .
• Strong Azure solution architecture experience.
• Experience with Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) .
• Strong DB2 architecture and integration experience.
• Experience with Cognos upgrades and integrations .
• Strong Maximo integration architecture experience.
• Strong API and middleware expertise.
• Enterprise integration architecture and governance experience.
• Experience designing secure data exchange patterns .
• Strong performance and security optimisation experience.
• Experience conducting upgrade impact analysis .
• Experience leading complex technical workstreams and governance.
• Experience with enterprise-scale migration and upgrade programmes.

Eligibility & Security

• SC Clearance required or candidate must be eligible and able to obtain it.
• Ability to work 1–2 days per week onsite in Derby .
