About the Role

A Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of telemedicine and in office visits. MAs support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

What you'll do

Accurate entry of patient demographic/medical data into medical EMR

Manages patient health information in EMR

Collects patient records from various sources, as needed

Send & follow-up lab and imaging orders to appropriate entity, as needed

Confirm submission of prescriptions by provider to pharmacy

Process medication refill requests

Facilitate completion of requested forms by patient

Responsible for addressing primary care physician questions

Chart preparation prior to patient’s appointment

Submission of patient recommendation letters from post visit plan to the primary care physician

Responsible for updating appointment status

Manage provider plan post visit

Schedules follow up appointments/reschedules appointments if needed

Communicates with providers/patients via company approved platforms

Assist patients with logging into virtual platform for appointment

Consistently meets established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards

Manage tasks in EMR, ensuring completion by due date

Follows protocols in place for patient records

Maintains patient, employee, and company confidentiality

Process patient prior authorizations, if applicable

May perform in-person medical duties including injections, urinalysis, and handling controlled medications/logs

Measure and record vital signs, if applicable

TMS treatment with patients, if applicable

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

Education & Experience

Medical Assistant I:

High school diploma or GED required

Previous experience utilizing an EMR/EHR

1 year minimum experience in a healthcare setting

Skills & Competencies

Ability to perform standard clinical processes according to established protocols, within the Medical Assistant scope of work

Preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

TMS certification

Telemedicine experience

Knowledge of medical terminology

Proficient with computer and Windows PC applications

Proficient with MS Office required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of desk work and computer use

Ability to lift 15 lbs
