SAFETY CO-ORDINATOR

Job Summary

Lead and ensure workplace safety compliance in construction projects by applying expertise in safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and managing safety certifications to maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of the Workplace Safety & Health Act to ensure compliance with safety regulations on construction sites
• Implement and monitor safety protocols using BCSS and other relevant safety certificates to reduce workplace hazards
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential safety issues in civil and structural construction work
• Utilize at least 3 years of construction experience to oversee safety practices and promote a culture of safety among workers
• Coordinate with project teams to integrate safety measures into construction planning and execution

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction
• Diploma equivalent or Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health
• Possession of BCSS and other relevant safety certificates
• Relevant knowledge of the Workplace Safety & Health Act

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in civil and structural construction work
