Care Worker
About the company
We are recruiting for Care Workers to join care at home services in Orkney, supporting hospital discharge and mainstream community care. This is an excellent long-term agency opportunity for experienced Care Workers who are passionate about delivering person-centred care and promoting independence in the community.
Your tasks
Day-to-day of the role
- Provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes
- Support with personal care, daily living activities and maintaining routines
- Administer medication in line with care plans and service guidance
- Promote independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing at all times
- Support older people and individuals with learning disabilities
- Work as part of hospital discharge and wider care at home services
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and professionals
- Travel within the local community as required to support service users
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent, or currently working towards this with relevant experience
- Experience within adult social care services
- Experience supporting older people and/or individuals with learning disabilities
- Current PVG and SSSC registration, or willingness to apply for both
- Full UK driving licence
- Fluent spoken and written English
- A caring, reliable and professional approach to community-based support work
What we offer
- £18 per hour
- Free shared accommodation provided
- Ferry travel to Orkney paid at the start of the placement
- Return ferry travel paid on successful completion of the assignment
- Minimum 6-month contract
- Choice of day, evening and night shifts
