Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:

Design, review, and coordinate mechanical systems for building projects. Review mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, specifications, shop drawings, and technical submissions. Supervise and inspect mechanical installations on construction sites, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, codes, and safety requirements. Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural, electrical, and other building services requirements. Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure mechanical works meet required quality, programme, and technical standards. Monitor the installation of HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, pumps, water systems, fire protection, and other mechanical building services. Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and resolution of mechanical issues throughout projects. Provide technical input into mechanical equipment and material selection, procurement, cost estimates, variations, and bills of quantities. Review equipment and system performance to ensure installations meet specified design and operational requirements.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Mechanical engineering, preferably within construction, real estate development, or building services. Knowledge of relevant Nigerian building, engineering, health, and safety standards. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical installations. Experience with AutoCAD and/or relevant engineering or facilities management software is an advantage. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
