Elevation Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Safety, Health, Environment & Training Specialist to join a busy, high-volume manufacturing environment in Cleckheaton.

This is a hands-on site-based HSE role, responsible for providing professional Health, Safety, Environmental and Training support across the operation. You will work closely with site leadership and operational teams to strengthen the site's safety culture, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will ideally bring experience from FMCG, food manufacturing or another high-volume manufacturing environment, alongside a strong understanding of HSE legislation, risk management and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HSE advice and support to colleagues, contractors and visitors.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through colleague engagement and behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Conduct and support risk assessments, workplace inspections and HSE audits.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain accurate accident records and complete RIDDOR reporting where required.
  • Monitor HSE KPIs, identify trends and support performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain and develop site-specific HSE policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Support the maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification.
  • Work with site leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and reduce risk.
  • Coordinate statutory inspections and work with external providers on areas including noise and fire risk.
  • Prepare HSE reports, audit findings, incident statistics and recommendations for management.
  • Ensure appropriate First Aid provision, training and certification across the site.
  • Plan and deliver HSE and compliance training, including areas such as manual handling, COSHH, hazard identification, emergency response and risk assessment.
  • Support induction programmes and ensure mandatory training is completed and accurately recorded.
  • Contribute to business continuity planning and testing.
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation, industry best practice and regulatory requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive and confident influencing people at all levels within a manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum; NEBOSH Diploma preferred.
  • Around 5 years' post-qualification HSE experience, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Experience undertaking HSE audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Auditor qualification for ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 would be highly desirable.
