Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled consultant pediatric ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care to infants, children, and adolescents, with a focus on the diagnosis and management of pediatric eye disorders and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key responsibilities

Diagnose and manage pediatric ophthalmic conditions, including strabismus, amblyopia, refractive errors, congenital eye disorders, and pediatric cataracts.

Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for infants, children, and adolescents.

Perform and interpret pediatric ophthalmic assessments and diagnostic investigations.

Manage complex pediatric eye conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.

Perform appropriate pediatric ophthalmic procedures and surgeries within the scope of practice.

Provide surgical and non-surgical management of strabismus and other pediatric eye disorders.

Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, neurologists, and other specialists when required.

Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up care.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies.

Participate in multidisciplinary clinical discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching activities where applicable.

Requirements

Qualifications

Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.

Recognized postgraduate qualification in ophthalmology.

Additional fellowship or advanced training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus is highly desirable.

Eligible for or holding a valid DHA consultant license or eligibility in the relevant specialty.

Demonstrated experience in pediatric ophthalmology, including the management of complex cases.

Strong clinical, diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
