Job purpose

Responsible for safely and efficiently handling explosives and detonating devices during wireline logging operations. Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Key accountabilities

Job specific accountabilities

Safely handle, transport, and store explosives and detonating devices according to established safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Prepare explosive charges and detonating systems for deployment in wellbore operations, ensuring accuracy and precision.

Execute the deployment and detonation of explosive charges in accordance with operational plans and safety guidelines.

Collaborate closely with other members of the logging services team to coordinate activities and ensure seamless integration of explosive operations with overall logging operations.

Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.

Policies, systems, processes & procedures

Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures, to accomplish operational objectives.

Training

Provide on-the-job training to meet competency based training programs for UAE nationalization.

Tool box

Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.

Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

Time management

Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.

Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

Innovation and continuous improvement

Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.

Health, safety, environment (HSE) and sustainability

Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division in line with international standards, best practices and Corporate Code of Practices and to ensure integrity and safety of assets.

Housekeeping

Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.

Reports

Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare section progress reports for company management.

Provide input for the preparation of method statements and initiate near miss reports.

Communications & working relationships

Regular contact with supervisor.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills

Minimum qualification

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum experience & knowledge & skills

Minimum of 2 years of experience in explosives handling or a related field, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

Certification or training in explosives handling and safety (e.g., Explosives Handler Certification) is highly desirable.

Familiarity with wireline logging operations and equipment is an advantage.

Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments, including outdoor and offshore.
