Assistant 2 (DSP)

Job Overview As an Assistant 2 (Direct Support Professional, or DSP), you'll help youth with disabilities, mental behavior issues and cognitive or developmental needs live with dignity, safety, and greater independence. You'll provide hands-on support in residential, home, and community settings, adapting care to each person's needs and preferences. Your impact: By supporting daily routines and honoring each resident's rights, you help individuals feel respected, safe, and included. You will also be responsible for performing a full range of clerical, secreterial, and operational duties. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration as assigned. Overseeing clerical tasks, such as sorting and sending mail Keeping an inventory of office supplies and ordering new materials as needed Apply behavior management approaches, maintain clean living spaces, and support residents' rights. Drive a standard passenger car when needed to support appointments and community activities. Maintaining files Welcoming visitors to your office Answering phone calls Taking and delivering messages Ensuring the office runs smoothly Scheduling meetings and sending meeting invites to attendees Other Duties Assigned Qualifications Caregiving experience is valued, including home and community care, home care, residential care home, personal care home, and group home. Experience with individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or cognitive disabilities is helpful. Familiarity with assisting with ADLs, medication administration, meal preparation, cleaning, client communication, and behavior management.
