Are you the enthusiastic, talented graduate intern we're looking for?

Can you turn a raw sensor signal into a reliable engineering measurement? Join the Grooming and Beauty Development team to extend an existing experimental platform with a new sensing technology. You will combine mechanical design, sensor integration, signal processing and data analysis to create a measurement solution that is reliable, repeatable and suitable for engineering decision-making.

Your Responsibilities

As an intern, you will:

• Take ownership of the assignment, including planning, design, experimentation and communication of results.
• Develop and evaluate concepts for robust mechanical sensor integration.
• Design mechanical components and fixtures for the measurement setup.
• Acquire and analyse sensor data under representative conditions.
• Investigate noise, variation, repeatability and measurement uncertainty.
• Develop algorithms that convert raw sensor signals into meaningful engineering parameters.
• Correlate the new measurements with other available measurement sources.
• Validate the performance of the integrated measurement system.
• Contribute to further mechanical and functional improvements of the experimental platform.

Key Deliverables

• Validated sensor integration concept and mechanical design.
• Technical documentation and, where applicable, CAD models or drawings.
• Working data-acquisition and data-processing workflow.
• Algorithms that translate raw sensor data into engineering metrics.
• Assessment of robustness, uncertainty, accuracy and repeatability.
• Validation experiments and recommendations for further development.
• Final report and presentation to stakeholders.
