Project Manager – Singapore & Vietnam Projects

Location: Singapore Department: Project Management & Procurement Position: Project Manager Reporting To: Managing Director

1. Job Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing projects between Singapore and Vietnam, overseeing the entire process from project assessment, procurement planning, supplier management, cost evaluation and commercial negotiations to delivery execution. The role requires strong commercial awareness, effective project planning, supplier relationship management and the ability to ensure projects are completed within the agreed budget, timeline and profitability targets.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Project Assessment & Planning

  • Obtain and review project information, technical specifications, requirements and schedules from Vietnam-based clients and project partners.
  • Evaluate project scope, commercial feasibility and procurement requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans, including procurement strategies, budgets and delivery schedules.
  • Identify potential project risks, operational challenges and cost implications.
  • Coordinate with Vietnam project teams to ensure all requirements are clearly communicated and understood.

B. Supplier Sourcing & Account Management

  • Identify, evaluate and establish relationships with suitable suppliers and manufacturers in Singapore and internationally.
  • Set up and maintain corporate purchasing accounts with suppliers.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements, credit terms, payment conditions and delivery arrangements.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
  • Develop alternative supplier options to minimise procurement risks and ensure supply continuity.

C. Cost Analysis & Profit Margin Management

  • Prepare detailed project costing, including product costs, logistics, shipping, taxes and other related expenses.
  • Calculate and evaluate project profit margins to ensure commercial viability.
  • Develop competitive pricing proposals while maintaining the company’s targeted profitability.
  • Monitor project expenditure and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Review and manage financial risks associated with supplier payments, currency fluctuations and project commitments.

D. Commercial Negotiation & Procurement

  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and favourable contract terms.
  • Evaluate quotations and compare suppliers based on price, quality, delivery capability and payment conditions.
  • Prepare procurement recommendations for management approval.
  • Coordinate purchase orders, supplier contracts and procurement documentation.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with project budgets and contractual obligations.

E. Project Timeline & Delivery Management

  • Develop procurement and delivery schedules aligned with project milestones in Vietnam.
  • Coordinate supplier production lead times, shipment schedules and expected delivery dates.
  • Work closely with suppliers, logistics providers and Vietnam project teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve potential delays or supply disruptions.
  • Adjust procurement and delivery plans when necessary to meet changing project requirements.

F. Project Coordination & Reporting

  • Act as the key point of contact between the Singapore office, Vietnam project teams and international suppliers.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, procurement status, costs and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate project records, supplier quotations, contracts and commercial documentation.
  • Prepare project performance reports, including budget utilisation, profit margins and outstanding commitments.
  • Report significant commercial or operational risks to management and recommend appropriate solutions.

Role Objective

To ensure that all Singapore–Vietnam projects are commercially viable, properly planned, competitively sourced and efficiently executed, while maintaining profitability, minimising operational risks and meeting project delivery commitments.
