Commercial Manager

About the role

We are seeking a high-calibre Commercial Manager to join our growing team in Ras Al Khaimah, taking a leading role in the commercial and contractual management of a large-scale infrastructure scheme forming part of a landmark development in the Emirate.

This is a senior, client-facing position suited to an experienced commercial professional who combines strong technical expertise with confident leadership, commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience working on major infrastructure schemes, with a background spanning projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, utilities, interchanges and other complex civil infrastructure developments.

You will ideally come from a Cost Management or Project Management Consultancy environment and will be comfortable operating at a senior level, leading teams, advising clients and taking ownership of complex commercial and contractual matters from post-contract through to completion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Act as a senior commercial representative for Omnium, providing authoritative commercial and contractual advice across major infrastructure projects.
• Lead and oversee all post-contract commercial and cost management activities, including cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, change control and commercial risk management.

• Manage the commercial administration of complex infrastructure contracts, ensuring contractual obligations, entitlements and commercial risks are appropriately identified and managed.
• Lead the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of variations, claims, extensions of time and other contractual matters.

• Provide strategic commercial advice to clients, supporting effective decision-making and ensuring projects remain commercially controlled throughout their lifecycle.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and other key project stakeholders, acting as a trusted commercial advisor.

• Lead, manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and commercial professionals, ensuring high standards of delivery, effective workload management and continued professional development.
• Review and challenge commercial reports, forecasts and cost plans to ensure accuracy, transparency and consistency.

• Identify commercial and contractual risks at an early stage and develop practical strategies to mitigate their impact.
• Contribute to the continued growth of Omnium’s infrastructure and project management offering across Ras Al Khaimah and the wider UAE.

• Ensure all commercial activities are delivered in accordance with relevant contractual requirements, industry standards, regulations and best practice.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• 15+ years’ post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management or Commercial Management, with significant infrastructure experience.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, tunnels, utilities, interchanges and major civil infrastructure programmes.

• Strong experience within a Cost Management or Project Management Consultancy environment is essential.
• Proven senior commercial leadership experience, with the ability to lead teams, manage major deliverables and take ownership of complex projects.

• Strong post-contract experience across contract administration, variations, claims, commercial risk and cost control.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and professionalism to operate at a senior level.

• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities, including experience mentoring and developing commercial and quantity surveying teams.
• Good understanding of the UAE construction and infrastructure market, including procurement practices, supply chains and contractual norms.

• Previous experience in the UAE and/or wider Middle East is strongly preferred.

Qualifications & Training:

• University degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Commercial Management or another relevant RICS-accredited discipline.
• MRICS qualification is highly desirable.

Salary: Subject to experience

Location: Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
