We are seeking a Project Executive to support some of the most innovative, complex, and large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects in the country. This role will be instrumental in delivering RMCI’s first-generation programs as a General Contractor within hyperscale and enterprise data center environments.

Responsibilities
Ability to manage complex data center / mission-critical construction projects , or a large-scale program with a high degree of effectiveness, accuracy, and accountability.
Effectively communicates and collaborates with Vice President(s) of Operations and Field Operations to align execution strategies across multiple projects and regions.
Has overall responsibility for project team success , including alignment with RMCI culture and Core Values, in addition to:
Safety
Quality
Schedule
Client satisfaction
Profitability
Ensures all Project Manager responsibilities are properly managed and executed across all assigned projects.
Lead and/or support business development efforts , including:
Client relationship development (hyperscalers, developers, colocation providers)
Proposal strategy and delivery
Presentations and contract negotiations
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with:
Owners (e.g., hyperscale clients)
Engineers / design teams
Trade partners (especially MEP and mission-critical subs)
Responsible for understanding and negotiating:
Prime contracts
Subcontracts
Purchase orders
Risk allocation strategies specific to large-scale data center builds
Ensures change orders and contract amendments are executed timely and within signatory authority.
Reviews and validates:
Cost models and GMP structures
Construction schedules (including fast-track/phased turnover strategies)
Procurement plans for long-lead electrical/mechanical equipment
Drives successful execution of mission-critical scopes , including:
Electrical infrastructure (MV/LV distribution, substations, switchgear, busway)
Mechanical systems (cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC systems)
Commissioning and turnover processes
Champions the transition from preconstruction → construction → commissioning → turnover , ensuring continuity and accountability across phases.
Supports national expansion efforts and helps scale RMCI’s presence in the data center market.
Mentors and develops Project Managers and senior field leadership for future leadership roles.
Qualifications
Ability to assume responsibility and effectively communicate with:
Hyperscale / enterprise clients
Executive leadership
Project teams and field operations
10+ years in Project, Program, or Construction Management roles
5+ years of experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale commercial/industrial construction (Data center experience strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of:
Fast-track construction delivery models
Phased turnover / early energization strategies
High-reliability environments (redundancy, uptime requirements)
Experience managing large-scale electrical and mechanical scopes , including coordination of critical systems:
Substations / utility interface
Switchgear, transformers, PDUs, RPPs
Backup generation and redundancy systems
Familiarity with commissioning processes and turnover requirements for mission-critical facilities
Proven experience managing complex stakeholder environments and high-value contracts
Strong industry network within:
Data center developers
Engineers/Designers
Mission-critical subcontractors
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong leadership presence with excellent:
Organizational skills
Communication skills (verbal and written)
Presentation capabilities
Demonstrated success leading teams and delivering large-scale projects ($500M+)
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Construction Management, or Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relative construction experience as a Project Manager, Construction Manager or Project/Construction Executive
Extensive relative construction experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
