Accountabilities: As a Technical Designer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining gameplay systems and interactive content that support engaging player experiences. You will collaborate closely with creative and technical teams to deliver high-quality features while improving development workflows.

Prototype, implement, and iterate on gameplay systems, investigative mechanics, interactive objects, narrative events, scripted sequences, objectives, and tutorial experiences.

Develop and maintain gameplay logic, progression systems, and narrative scripting using Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprint.

Build reliable and scalable gameplay features while ensuring strong performance, stability, and content quality.

Collaborate with narrative designers, gameplay designers, artists, audio specialists, and engineers to bring interactive storytelling elements to life.

Support player choice systems, scripted moments, and immersive gameplay experiences through effective technical implementation.

Work with engineering teams to improve tools, workflows, and content pipelines that enable efficient iteration.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve gameplay implementation issues, technical challenges, and scripting problems.

Partner with producers and leadership to estimate work, communicate progress, identify risks, and support successful project milestones.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a technically skilled game developer with strong experience implementing gameplay systems and interactive content. You should be comfortable working across creative and engineering disciplines while using technical expertise to transform ideas into engaging player experiences.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in game development, including at least 2 years in a Technical Designer or similar gameplay implementation role.

Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprint scripting, gameplay implementation, debugging, and complex gameplay systems.

Experience building gameplay mechanics, scripted events, interactive sequences, or narrative-driven content directly within a game engine.

Strong understanding of scripting concepts, gameplay logic, and state-driven systems.

Experience contributing to at least one shipped game title, ideally involving narrative gameplay, exploration, adventure, or investigative mechanics.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across design, narrative, engineering, art, and production teams.

Experience with branching dialogue, quest systems, investigative gameplay, cinematic pipelines, sequencing tools, or interactive storytelling workflows is a plus.

Passion for narrative entertainment, games, film, television, novels, podcasts, or other storytelling formats is highly valued.
