Product Owner

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented product owner to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder communication. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into clear functional features and ensure the seamless delivery of business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into functional specifications.
• Work closely with product managers, developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Define and manage the product backlog, supporting sprint planning and prioritization activities.
• Create comprehensive user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams.
• Analyze existing systems, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend enhancements aligned with business goals.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist in validating developed features.
• Conduct gap analyses and impact assessments for new requirements or change requests.
• Prepare detailed and high-quality documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) , Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) , and process diagrams.
• Facilitate effective communication between business and technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and drive timely issue resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology , or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Feature Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience in Cross-Border Payments is mandatory .
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel , and similar platforms.
• Strong documentation skills (BRD, FSD, user stories, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Good To Have)

• Experience in BFSI / Payments / Fintech domains.
• Working knowledge of SQL or data analysis tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA .
