Job Purpose: We are looking for a talented and motivated Communications Officer to join our team in our HQ in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin This role sits within a small, high-performing Communications team and will play a key role in bringing GOAL’s work to life through compelling storytelling and impactful communications. Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will collaborate closely with our programme and fundraising teams to develop content that strengthens our global visibility, engages audiences, and supports income generation

Please note we operate a hybrid policy and ask employees to attend our HQ office in Dun Laoghaire, co Dublin a minimum of 2 days week

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Content & Storytelling

Develop engaging content including human-interest stories, blogs, social media and multimedia assets

Translate complex programme information into clear, compelling narratives

Source stories and content from country teams to showcase impact

Media & Programme Communications

Support the delivery of strategic communications that raise the profile of GOAL’s programmes

Draft press materials (press releases, articles, opinion pieces) and support media outreach

Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external media contacts

Fundraising Campaigns

Partner with fundraising teams on key campaigns (e.g. GOAL Mile, Jersey Day, emergency appeals)

Create content that drives engagement, participation and income

Monitor campaign performance and apply learnings

Digital Communications

Contribute to website and social media content across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)

Support delivery of the digital communications strategy

Work with internal design resources to produce high-quality visual content

Brand & Internal Communications

Ensure consistency of messaging and brand across all outputs

Support internal communications and organisational engagement

Skills and Experience

2+ years’ experience in communications, PR, marketing or a related field

Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences

Experience creating digital content and supporting campaigns

Good understanding of social media platforms and trends

Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities

Strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
