Sales Representative

Care Bakery is seeking a motivated, personable, and self-driven Sales Representative to help expand our retail and food service presence. As an established Canadian bakery with products already available in several grocery stores and restaurants, we are looking to reach new locations, strengthen our presence in existing accounts, and introduce more customers to our gluten-free product line.

This role combines sales, relationship building, store visits, and in-store product demonstrations. Working alongside the General Manager and Owner, you will help identify new sales opportunities, build professional relationships with store teams and purchasing decision-makers, and develop strategies to increase product visibility and sales.

This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, interested in sales and business development, and excited about contributing to the growth of an established company. Extensive sales experience is not required. Students and individuals looking to gain practical sales experience are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve product availability, presentation, and sales within existing accounts.
  • Visit new grocery stores, specialty food retailers, and restaurants to introduce Care Bakery products and explore opportunities to secure new accounts.
  • Identify store managers, restaurant managers, and category purchasing decision-makers responsible for product selection and purchasing.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with store managers, restaurant operators, department staff, and purchasing contacts.
  • Set up and manage in-store product demonstrations, including preparing and transporting carts, supplies, and promotional materials.
  • Engage customers during scheduled demonstrations to introduce Care Bakery products and encourage purchases.
  • Document store visits, customer interactions, sales activities, follow-ups, and new business opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor products, customer feedback, and market opportunities to identify ways to increase sales.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Owner to develop and implement strategies for expanding distribution and improving sales performance.
  • Provide feedback, recommendations, and new ideas to support business development and the continued growth of Care Bakery.
  • Complete required office tasks, reporting, and follow-ups during scheduled working hours when not visiting stores.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle for travel between store locations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable approaching store personnel, initiating conversations, and building professional relationships.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to document activities and follow through on commitments.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while following direction and priorities.
  • Willingness to learn about sales, product distribution, and business development.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Availability to work daytime hours, primarily Tuesday to Friday, with occasional Saturday availability for scheduled demonstrations.
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail, marketing, or business development is considered an asset but is not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in sales, marketing, retail operations, or entrepreneurship.
  • Confidence approaching decision-makers and presenting products professionally.
  • An interest in gluten-free products and supporting Canadian businesses.
