Senior Mine Engineer

Responsibilities:

Develop and manage short, medium, and long-term mine plans, pit designs, dump sequences, and stockpiles. Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and mining standards. Supervise mine production activities, including drilling & blasting, excavation, hauling, and pit dewatering. Develop production schedules and monitor operational costs and equipment performance. Lead and coordinate the Mine Production team, including engineers, mine captains, supervisors, and operators. Train and mentor mining personnel to improve performance and productivity. Review geological, hydrological, geotechnical, and resource models to support mine planning. Supervise survey activities relating to mine production. Provide technical support and analysis for mine projects and operational improvements.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. A master's degree is an advantage. 8–12 years of relevant mining experience, with 3–5 years in a senior/supervisory role. Strong knowledge of Deswik and Surpac. Strong understanding of open-pit and/or underground mining methods. Knowledge of mining legislation, safety standards, and best practices. Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
