Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Company Overview: Zocks is an AI platform transforming how financial advisors work. This means our Budapest teams don't just execute on a product built elsewhere: they're directly responsible for shaping the product, technology, and how we build them as we grow. Location: Budapest, XI., Science Park (On-site Monday to Thursday, Remote on Fridays)

Why we're hiring for this role As Zocks continues to scale, we're looking for a highly experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of our internal IT infrastructure, security posture, and end-user computing environment. This is not a traditional IT support role. We're looking for someone who enjoys designing, building, and continuously improving modern IT systems while remaining deeply hands-on. You'll define standards, automate wherever possible, and ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reliable as we grow. While you'll spend much of your time improving our infrastructure and processes, you'll also serve as the senior technical owner for complex IT issues. We believe great infrastructure engineers don't just build reliable systems—they stay close enough to day-to-day operations to continuously improve them.

What You'll Own

Infrastructure & Build Processes Design, build, and continuously improve Zocks' internal IT infrastructure

Standardize and automate provisioning, onboarding, and device lifecycle management

Build scalable IT processes that reduce manual operational work

Evaluate and implement modern infrastructure tools and best practices

Drive continuous improvements across internal IT operations

Identity & Access Management Own the complete user lifecycle across internal systems

Design and maintain secure SSO and identity management solutions

Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles

Continuously review and improve access governance and security

Endpoint Management Own MacBook and Windows device management using modern MDM platforms

Build secure baseline configurations and automated deployment workflows

Define compliance policies and endpoint hardening standards

Manage the hardware lifecycle from procurement through retirement

Network Infrastructure Design, maintain, and optimize secure office networking

Monitor performance, reliability, and availability

Troubleshoot complex networking and connectivity issues

Continuously improve network architecture and resilience

Security & Compliance Drive a security-first approach across our internal infrastructure

Continuously improve endpoint, identity, and network security

Own vulnerability management, patching, backups, and disaster recovery

Monitor security events and proactively reduce operational risk

Support internal and external compliance initiatives and security best practices

Google Workspace & Collaboration Own Google Workspace administration and security configuration

Manage users, groups, permissions, and collaboration tools

Improve automation and integrations across our internal platforms

IT Operations & Support Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex IT issues

Resolve infrastructure, endpoint, identity, and networking challenges when needed

Identify recurring issues and eliminate them through automation and process improvements

Continuously improve the employee IT experience rather than simply resolving tickets

Vendor & Technology Management Manage relationships with US-based IT vendors and service providers

Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements

Coordinate procurement, renewals, and technical escalations

Documentation & Technical Leadership Build and maintain high-quality technical documentation

Define operational standards and IT best practices

Share knowledge and raise the technical maturity of our internal IT environment

Requirements 5+ years of experience managing modern IT infrastructure

Strong hands-on experience administering both macOS and Windows environments

Experience with Identity & Access Management, SSO, and Zero Trust principles

Strong experience with Google Workspace administration

Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Jamf and/or Microsoft Intune

Solid networking knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills

Strong understanding of endpoint security, hardening, vulnerability management, and patch management

Experience designing scalable IT processes and automating operational workflows

Comfortable balancing strategic infrastructure work with hands-on operational support

Strong ownership mindset with exceptional attention to detail

Fluent English and Hungarian

Nice to Have Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company

Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or similar)

Experience with cloud identity platforms such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID

Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2

Interest in AI and emerging technologies
