Principle Designer Electrical

Zachry Engineering Corp (ZEC) is currently looking for a talented and self-motivated Principal Designer Electrical with responsible for delivering complex electrical design solutions for large-scale industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects. This is a great opportunity to get involved on challenging and interesting design projects within the Power industry.

Associates degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school.

Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience in the Power and Industrial Industry.

Previous Lead Designer experience.

2D MicroStation and AutoCAD experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Must be able to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others.

Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree.

Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

Certificate in Design/Drafting.

15-20 years of electrical engineering design experience.

Knowledge of Mechanical Process Systems.

Experience with hazardous area classification a plus.

Working Experience with Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear/Motor Control Centers.

Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Experience with Smart Plant Software SPEL or SPI a plus.

Physical Demands

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.

Work Environment

Work will be in a general office environment operating and functioning in a fast-paced work environment. Occasionally required to work in an industrial location where noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
