Hub Operations Manager

WahuSouth Jakarta, DKI Jakartakalibrravaldatud 05.10.2026

About The Roles

Make sure that every kilo a collector brings in is received, weighed, paid, and delivered onward — reliably, cheaply, and with data that holds up under audit.

The Manager of Operations owns Wahu's physical capacity: how many collection points exist, whether they work, and how material moves from hub to MRF. Growth creates the demand; this role makes sure the network can absorb it.

Job Descriptions

Network build — hubs & dropboxes

Owns the rollout plan against the 400–500 collection point target: site selection, partner onboarding, permits, installation, and launch readiness.

Builds a repeatable installation process so opening a hub is a standard procedure, not a project.

Manages the pipeline per partner and per region, phased against transport and MRF processing capacity no hub opens that cannot be serviced.

Proposes relocation or closure of underperforming points on cost and uptime evidence, with Growth consulted on whether demand can still be built.

Delivers a hub that is ready to receive collectors on the agreed launch date, so Growth's pre-launch campaign lands on a working site.

Hub operations — uptime and the collector experience on site

Analyze and optimized hub for improvement

Owns hub uptime: equipment working, scales calibrated, bins emptied, site clean and safe.

Staffs and trains hub attendants; sets the service standard a collector meets at the counter.

Owns payout execution accurate weighing, correct rates (e.g. Rp 10,000/kg for aluminium cans), and payment into the app wallet without disputes.

Runs preventive maintenance and a fast-response repair loop; a broken hub is a lost hub.

Resolves partner-side issues at store level: space, access, signage, store staff cooperation.

Logistics & collection

Owns routing, collection frequency, fleet, and third-party transport so no hub overflows and no truck runs half empty.

Plans capacity ahead of the rollout and ahead of campaign peaks flagged by Growth.

Manages transport cost per kilo as a primary lever on unit economics.

Owns chain-of-custody from hub to MRF — every load traceable to a source.

Alignment with the MRF

Coordinates with the MRF on delivery windows, intake planning, and volume forecasts. This is alignment between two organisations, not line management.

Holds material quality at the handover: sorted, dry, and within agreed contamination limits so volume is not lost at the gate.

Gives the MRF a reliable forward forecast so processing capacity is planned ahead of the rollout, not after it.

Flags early when network volume is about to outgrow available processing capacity.

Resolves handover disputes on weight, quality, and documentation.

Cost, data & compliance

Owns all-in operational cost per kilo, hub to MRF collection, transport, handling, payout and drives it down as volume scales.

Owns the operational data layer feeding the dashboard: volumes, weights, uptime, routes, deliveries. One source of truth, shared with Growth and Finance.

Guards traceability so volume claims survive audit by partners, certifiers, and plastic-credit markets (PPRS, PCX Markets).

Owns permits, KLHK and other regulatory reporting, and QHSE across all sites.

Owns safety: this is a business with vehicles, machinery, and manual handling.

Qualification

Track record: 8+ years in operations or logistics, of which at least 3 leading a multi-site field organisation.

Leads managers: has run a network through city, area, or branch managers — not a single site, and not only an office function. Comfortable being accountable for places they are not standing in.

Scale of people: has been responsible for 100+ staff, including blue-collar teams.

Standardisation: has taken something that worked in one location and made it work identically in five.

Indonesian market: operates confidently with local permits, regulators, retail partners, and vendors across regions.

Cost discipline: has owned a unit cost and moved it. Can build and defend an operational model.

Language: fluent Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Field presence: will be at hubs and on the floor, not only in the number

Nice to Have

Waste management, recycling, or materials handling experience.

Familiarity with EPR, PPRS certification, or plastic credit verification requirements.

Retail or in-store operations experience — installing and servicing equipment inside a partner's store.

Experience opening operations in a new city from scratch.

Formal continuous improvement background (Lean, Six Sigma) applied in practice, not on paper.
