Location: Remote (United States (MA / Austin TX / MD)

Team: Product & Engineering

Employment Type: Full-Time

About VulnCheck

Exploitation prevention is only as strong as the intelligence driving those efforts, and most of the industry is still running on intelligence that lacks exploit context. VulnCheck, The Exploit Intelligence Company, delivers structured exploit intelligence on what is actively weaponized in the wild, purpose-built for the data lakes, ETL pipelines, automation, and AI and LLM workflows your infrastructure already runs on, raising the capability of everything it powers.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Rapid Response organization - regionally-based teams in the US, UK, and APAC that keep our customers unblocked around the clock. You’ll manage engineering teams of senior ICs directly, set the technical and operational bar for the group, and make sure work is prioritized correctly across a demanding mix of urgent and long-term needs.

This team sits at the intersection of Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales. Your teams handle urgent pre-sales requests, urgent customer issues, and other customer-driven feature requests, alongside the backend maintenance and integration work that keeps the platform stable. You’ll need to be equally comfortable setting engineering standards, coaching engineers, and triaging competing priorities across time zones. This is a 100% remote role, with preference for candidates located in Massachusetts, Maryland, or Greater Austin TX.

What You’ll Do

Manage and grow engineering teams based in the US, UK, and APAC, providing hands-on people leadership, coaching, and career development

Set priorities across urgent pre-sales requests, urgent customer issues, customer feature requests, and backend maintenance/integration work, balancing reactive and proactive work

Ensure continuous, follow-the-sun coverage for urgent customer and pre-sales needs across time zones

Partner closely with Customer Success and Sales leadership to understand customer and deal-critical needs and translate them into engineering plans

Partner with Product and other Engineering teams to ensure customer-driven work is integrated into the broader platform roadmap

Own the team's engineering quality bar, including code quality, root-cause practices, and long-term fixes over one-off patches

Drive hiring, onboarding, and performance management across all three regional teams

Establish and refine on-call, escalation, and incident response processes for the team

Report on team health, throughput, and customer outcomes to engineering and company leadership

Remove blockers for your teams and stay close enough to the technical work to make credible calls under pressure

What You’ll Bring

5+ years of experience managing software engineers, ideally across distributed or multi-region teams

Experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or threat intelligence

Prior experience as a senior or staff software engineer, with credibility to engage in technical discussions and unblock your team

Experience managing customer-facing, support, sustaining, or reliability engineering teams

Proven ability to prioritize and sequence competing demands—urgent customer issues, pre-sales asks, and longer-term maintenance work

Experience managing teams across multiple time zones and regions, with strong async communication habits

Solid understanding of backend systems, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)

A customer-obsessed mindset and a track record of turning technical challenges into strong customer outcomes

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, Sales, Customer Success, and other Engineering teams

Experience working with data pipelines, ETL systems, or high-volume data processing is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience managing a customer reliability, sustaining, support, or escalation engineering function

Familiarity with CVE, NVD, KEV, or exploit intelligence datasets

Experience supporting pre-sales or deal-critical technical requests

Background in high-growth or startup environments
