AWS Devops Engineer

Daily tasks

• Supporting project teams to build safe, reliable, and secure systems that address HSBC’s business needs.
• Providing on-call support, solving technical problems and helping to resolve incidents.
• Writing clear documentation that can be read by both technical and non-technical people.
• Assisting in the management of AWS accounts and operating key platform services.
• Collaborating with development teams to ensure secure and efficient project launches.

Requirements

Engineers who are comfortable leading major incident investigations, providing on-call support, and collaborating on projects with colleagues.

Python developers who love automating solutions. If your Python skills aren’t much to brag about, then a development understanding with excellent scripting skills would also work.

Broad experience working across many Cloud services, with a specific focus on AWS.

Practical understanding of DevOps and Agile working methodologies. You build it, you own it, you support it mentality.

Demonstrable enterprise infrastructure delivery success stories.

Good understanding of Linux and/or Windows operating systems, proficient experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Git, Ansible and Terraform.

You must believe that security is a fundamental aspect of delivering solutions and know what it takes to do so in an AWS context.
