Urban Planner

Our platform combines planning policies, land data, development evidence and AI-powered workflows to help developers, planners and public-sector organisations evaluate opportunities and make better decisions. We are looking for an Urban Planner who can combine professional planning expertise with strong communication and product-thinking skills. Job Summary The Urban Planner will work directly with clients to understand their planning and development requirements, develop practical planning solutions and support the improvement of UnlockLand’s products. This role involves planning analysis, proposal development, client communication, product demonstrations and collaboration with product and engineering teams. The successful candidate should be able to understand complex planning problems, develop clear recommendations and communicate them confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Understand client requirements relating to urban planning, land development and pre-development.

Lead client meetings, workshops, requirement discussions and project presentations.

Develop planning concepts, development scenarios, site assessments and feasibility recommendations.

Review planning policies, zoning requirements, development controls and site constraints.

Prepare planning proposals, reports, presentations and other client-facing materials.

Support the delivery of client POCs, from initial requirements through solution design, demonstration and final delivery.

Translate professional planning workflows into clear product requirements and user journeys.

Work closely with product managers, designers and engineers to improve product features and workflows.

Test the platform from a professional planner’s perspective and identify opportunities for improvement.

Gather and structure client feedback after product demonstrations and project delivery.

Support product optimisation based on real-world planning and development use cases.

Manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Represent UnlockLand professionally in client meetings, industry events and business discussions.

Requirements Academic or professional background in urban planning, urban design, architecture, real estate development or a related built-environment discipline.

Hands-on experience working on urban planning, master planning, development planning, site planning or pre-development projects.

Strong ability to develop planning concepts, evaluate development options and provide practical recommendations.

Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to lead client meetings and deliver professional presentations.

Strong communication, stakeholder-management and presentation skills.

Ability to explain complex planning, technical and development concepts in a clear and structured manner.

Experience preparing professional planning proposals, reports, presentations or feasibility studies.

Ability to work effectively with product, design and engineering teams.

Strong interest in AI, planning technology, real estate technology and digital products.

Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving startup environment.

Strong attention to detail, ownership and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications Experience working with property developers, planning consultancies, architecture firms, government agencies or statutory boards.

Experience in land acquisition, development feasibility, site assessment or pre-development strategy.

Experience working with enterprise clients or public-sector organisations.

Experience participating in client workshops, tenders, POCs or software implementation projects.

Familiarity with Singapore planning and development processes.

Familiarity with GIS, mapping tools, planning software, data platforms or AI tools.

Experience providing structured feedback to improve software products.

A portfolio or examples of completed planning or development projects.
