Major duties

  • You will determine sequence, priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments; estimating material, equipment and manpower needs.
  • You will develop and implement work and safety procedures.
  • You will execute administrative functions such as scheduling and approving leave, issuing performance appraisals, deciding conduct related matters, and supporting Equal Employment Opportunity principles and practices.
  • You will ensure proper quantity of work from subordinates, inspects work for quality and conformance with instructions/specifications, and is responsible for validity/correctness of all temporary services performed.
  • You will Attends training programs and supervisors' conferences and transmits information to subordinates.
  • You will Participates in developing budgetary, equipment and manning requirements for the Shop.

Qualifications

Assigning work and instructions, planning work for journeymen employees in various trades such as: Electrician, Pipefitter, and Gas Detention Monitor; Assigning tasks, tools, equipment and materials to journeymen workers; Interpret plans and instructions, as necessary; and instruct workers on proper work methods, use equipment, and safe work practices. Resolving working problems and take action to overcome bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages and other delays; Ensuring proper quantity of work from subordinates, inspects work for quality and conformance with instructions/specifications; Enforcing safety, fire, good housekeeping and other regulations. Providing advice or instruction to employees on work or administrative matters; supporting Equal Employment Opportunity principles and practices.
