Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, and internal financial controls.

The Accounting Manager will work closely with management, internal departments, auditors, banks, tax agents, and relevant authorities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with Singapore accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash flow.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing of accounts.
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial analysis for management.
  • Monitor company expenditure, project costs, budgets, and financial performance.
  • Review accounting entries, payment vouchers, bank reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and supporting documents.
  • Manage cash flow and banking matters, including payments, receipts, bank facilities, and bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and other professional service providers.
  • Handle statutory reporting, corporate tax, GST and other relevant Singapore regulatory and tax compliance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), company policies, and internal controls.
  • Develop, review, and improve accounting procedures, financial controls, and reporting processes.
  • Support management in financial planning, cost control, risk management, and business decision-making.
  • Liaise and coordinate with headquarters and project teams on finance and accounting matters.
  • Supervise, guide, and support members of the Finance Department.
  • Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Relevant working experience in accounting, finance, or financial management, preferably with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
  • Good knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, GST, audit, and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with Singapore accounting standards and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management, internal departments, auditors, banks, and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently as well as lead and collaborate with the Finance team.
  • Experience in the construction, engineering, infrastructure, or project-based industry will be an advantage.
