Senior HVAC Design Engineer

Lead and develop HVAC designs for a variety of building projects from concept design through detailed design and tender documentation.

Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.

Develop HVAC design concepts, layouts, schematics, and detailed technical documentation.

Prepare and review HVAC drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and design calculations.

Develop and coordinate HVAC systems using Revit MEP to BIM LOD 350.

Ensure accurate and coordinated BIM modeling of HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, fittings, accessories, and connections.

Coordinate HVAC systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines within a multidisciplinary BIM environment.

Participate in clash detection and resolve design and coordination issues to ensure fully coordinated BIM deliverables.

Prepare and review HVAC BOQs, technical specifications, equipment schedules, and approved vendor lists.

Review equipment selections, technical submittals, and material submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and design requirements.

Prepare and review tender documentation and provide technical input during the tendering process.

Conduct technical reviews and provide solutions to complex design and coordination challenges.

Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.

Ensure HVAC designs comply with relevant international codes, standards, project specifications, and applicable local requirements.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to maintaining the technical quality and standards of the HVAC design team.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

7–10 years of relevant experience in HVAC design, preferably within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.

Strong experience in HVAC design for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, mixed-use, or similar projects.

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including load calculations, chilled water systems, DX systems, air distribution, ventilation, equipment selection, and smoke management.

Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP with proven experience delivering BIM models to LOD 350.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.

Practical experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection.

Proven experience in preparing HVAC BOQs, technical specifications, equipment schedules, and vendor lists.

Good knowledge of HVAC equipment, manufacturers, and available technical solutions.

Good knowledge of relevant international codes and standards, including ASHRAE and NFPA, as well as applicable local requirements.

Ability to independently manage HVAC design packages and deliverables from concept through tender stage.

Strong technical problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.

Ability to review, coordinate, and guide the work of junior engineers.

Good command of written and spoken English.

Previous experience in an engineering consultancy is preferred.
