Food Runner

Job description

We are looking for a food runner who is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests quickly, accurately, and professionally. They act as a link between the kitchen and the dining area, helping ensure smooth restaurant operations and an excellent guest experience.

Responsible for quick and accurate delivery of orders from the kitchen to guests.

Responsible to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus.

Act as the contact point between front of the house and back of the house staff.

Uphold our food health safety and sanitation principles and ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards.

Assure the guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food.

Deliver food orders to a variety of guests in a timely manner.

Keep kitchen station, all utensils, steak knives, trays, and other equipment polished and stocked.

Communicate effectively and courteously with guests and co-workers.

Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests.

Inform restaurant staff about guests’ feedback or requests.

Assist guests with their orders by explaining specials, meals, and drinks, and make recommendations.

Assist the kitchen and service staff as needed to maintain the highest level of food quality, presentation, and timing to optimize our guests’ dining experience.

Set up the front line with the equipment, plateware, and smallwares needed to effectively serve all food products.

Appropriately coordinate activities between the kitchen and guests.

Keep station restocked throughout the shift and ensure all large and small trays and tray stands are ready for service.

Assist the server as needed to optimize the guest’s dining experience.

Accomplish all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.

Complete all closing duties at the end of each shift and assist chef and other kitchen personnel in accomplishing closing duties and kitchen cleanliness.

Complete all responsible tasks in the front and/or back of the house as assigned.
