ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assists management in making decisions through the timely submission of reports.

Ensures compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements on filings of tax or company returns, together with various government requirements and regulations. Identify ways to streamline accounting operations and ways to improve the department. Approves ledger entries by auditing transactions and facilitate month-end / year-end close processes. Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls. Supervises accounting staff and verifies the accuracy of data processing for accounting information. Acts as the first point of contact for staff on day-to-day queries and liaise with Accounting Manager when appropriate Performs any task or assignment that may be delegated by the Accounting Manager from time to time.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Preferably a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and MS Office apps
• Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with preparing financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end / year-end close process
• Attention to detail with strong analytical skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
