Job Title: Animal Control - Shelter Office Staff Department: Operations - Animal Control Division Reports To: Animal ControI Director
SUMMARY: Maintains shelter facility and assists with customers and complaints regarding Animal Control issues requiring dispatch of Animal Control Officers by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans and helps maintain the Shelter facility
- Addresses customer questions about animals to be adopted and the process for adoption
- Addresses customer concerns or complaints regarding Animal Control matters and dispatches Animal Control Officers as required
- Assists in managing supply inventory
- Supplies food, water and personal care to detained animals
- Reports complaints of animal bite cases and works with Police Department to investigate
- Helps maintain files regarding animals impounded and disposition of each
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NONE
Miscellaneous Information
EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CITY OF SOUTHAVEN REQUIRES:
- A satisfactory check of references.
- A medical examination may be required and may be considered before any appointment can be finalized; and may require a laboratory test for alcohol and substance abuse.
- Federal law requires that the selected candidate provide proof of identity and employment eligibility. (E-VERIFY)
- All City of Southaven employees must receive their payroll check through direct deposit as a condition of employment.
