Join as a Marine Technician to assist experienced engineers in servicing and repairing marine equipment, gaining practical skills through on-the-job training and supporting local and overseas service activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced engineers and technicians with servicing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing marine machinery and equipment to ensure operational reliability
- Support onboard service and repair activities under supervision to maintain vessel functionality
- Perform basic equipment checks, measurements, testing, cleaning, and maintenance tasks to uphold equipment standards
- Assist with installation, dismantling, and replacement of marine equipment and components to support maintenance projects
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and identify equipment issues to aid in timely repairs
- Follow technical procedures, safety protocols, and instructions during all service work to ensure compliance and safety
- Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and workshop/service areas to support efficient operations
- Prepare service reports, checklists, and maintenance records to document work performed accurately
- Communicate professionally with customers, vessel crew, engineers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth service delivery
- Travel locally and overseas to vessels, ports, shipyards, workshops, and customer sites as required to provide on-site support
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop practical skills in marine machinery servicing for continuous improvement
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Certificate in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Technology, or related technical field
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, marine machinery, engines, pumps, valves, hydraulics, or related equipment
- Hands-on or workshop experience in mechanical or marine equipment maintenance
- Physically fit and comfortable performing hands-on technical work in industrial environments such as vessels, shipyards, and workshops
- Good attitude towards learning, following instructions, and developing technical skills
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within a team
- Basic communication skills in English to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Willingness to travel locally and overseas as required
- Valid driving licence (advantageous but not essential)
