Consultant Acute Medicine Physician

Job description

We are seeking an experienced consultant acute medicine physician with Western qualifications or American Board Certification to provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of adult patients presenting with acute medical conditions. The successful candidate will lead the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), deliver rapid clinical decision-making, stabilize critically ill patients, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognised medical institution.

Recognised specialist qualification in acute medicine, including:

American Board Certification in Internal Medicine (with relevant Acute/Internal Medicine experience)

UK CCT in Acute Internal Medicine or other recognised Western qualification

Minimum 5 years of post-specialisation clinical experience preferred.

Expertise in:

Acute Internal Medicine

Emergency assessment and stabilisation of critically ill adults

Management of complex acute medical conditions

Sepsis and medical emergencies

Cardiorespiratory and metabolic disorders

Acute Medical Unit (AMU) leadership

Multidisciplinary patient management and discharge planning

Experience supervising junior physicians and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skills.
