SAEKI - Manufacturing at software speed Europe's industrial base cannot respond at the speed modern conflict requires. Legacy suppliers operate on month-long timelines. Tribal knowledge is retiring. Supply chains are fragile. SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories — the infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed. Factory ONE is where this goes into series production for the first time: SLS and CNC machining under one roof, connected by automation and software rather than clipboards and shouting across the floor.

The Role You're joining a factory that is still being built. That means the processes you help shape don't exist yet. How a part travels from file to shipment, which steps get automated, and what data comes out of it — all of that is being defined right now, and you're part of it. Concretely, you'll work at the intersection of machine, process, and software: you help commission equipment and automation cells, turn what you learn into repeatable procedures, and translate those into work instructions, checklists, and digital workflows. What you build stays — and scales with every additional factory we bring online. This is a hands-on role. You'll be standing at the machines, because you only understand a process once you've run it yourself. But the goal isn't for you to operate them permanently — it's for you to improve them. Based on-site at Factory ONE in the east of Munich.

What We're Looking For Technical background: You're studying mechatronics, mechanical engineering, production or automation engineering, or something comparable — or you hold an equivalent technical qualification. Experience with additive manufacturing, CNC, or PLCs is a plus, not a requirement. Systems thinking: You see more than the individual machine — you see the chain before and after it, and you spot where it jams. Practical ability: You're comfortable with tools and enjoy working with your hands. A factory under construction is not a pure desk job. Care and stamina: You work precisely, document cleanly, and stay focused even when the work gets tedious. Initiative: You don't wait for instructions — you recognise what needs doing and take it on. Commissioning: You support the installation and commissioning of SLS systems, CNC machines, and peripherals — from delivery through to the first approved part. Automation: You help set up automation cells and handling solutions, test them, and work on making them reliable. Defining workflows: You develop procedures for production, post-processing, and quality assurance — and write them up so they work at the next site without you. Process data: You help define which production and quality data we capture, and use it to make bottlenecks and scrap causes visible. Improvement: You bring your own ideas forward and implement them. If you see a better solution here, you get to build it. Location: Based in Munich (on-site at Factory ONE). Language: Fluent German; good English skills are a plus.

What we're not looking for People who need clearly bounded tasks. In a factory under construction, priorities shift week to week — that's the price of getting real responsibility early. Pure theorists. What counts here is what comes off the end of the line.

What we offer Internship: 3–6 months, full-time Working student: minimum 6 months, approx. 20 hrs/week (more during semester breaks by arrangement) Start: immediately Mission: Rebuild the industrial sovereignty of the West. You'll work with state-of-the-art industrial SLS systems and be part of a team spanning production, software, robotics, and automation. Ownership from day one: You get real responsibility early on, and the opportunity to grow with the company. The environment: A data-driven production environment with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and short decision paths. The team: Close collaboration with our software, robotics, and engineering teams. "Special Forces" model — everyone ships, no politics, no bureaucracy. Direct feedback, high standards. Compensation: Market-standard salary. Location: Factory ONE in the east of Munich.

Apply Resume: Show us what you've worked on in practice so far. Cover letter: Why this mission? Why now? From when, and for how long?
