Software Developer
On behalf of our multinational client, we are looking to hire:
Job Title for the new hire: Software Developer
Job Description: We are looking for a Software Engineer who can code, leverage APIs, and work with AI tools to build and enhance BIM&D's software products. The core of this role is hands-on development: building features in Amazon PreConnector, integrating with AWS and Autodesk platform services, working with MCP-based integrations within PreConnector, and using AI-assisted tooling (Claude Code, Amazon Q) to accelerate delivery. BIM domain knowledge is helpful but not a prerequisite — the team will provide context.
Technical Assessment needed: Yes
Expected deliverables:
- Software Development & Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs on a microservices architecture, delivering high-performance, reliable features for Amazon PreConnector and related BIM&D tools.
- AI-Assisted Development: Leverage AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Amazon Q Developer to accelerate feature delivery, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and improve code quality across BIM&D products.
- MCP Integration: Work with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations built into Amazon PreConnector, enabling AI agents to interface with AWS data services and internal business intelligence systems.
- Amazon Platform Interoperability: Develop and maintain integrations with Amazon internal platforms including Amazon Redshift, AWS data lakes, S3, and internal BI reporting tools, enabling cross-functional data democratisation and real-time reporting for GES stakeholders.
- API Design & Development: Architect, build, and document RESTful APIs that facilitate secure, efficient data exchange between Autodesk Construction Cloud, AWS services, and Amazon internal platforms, adhering to OpenAPI standards and Amazon security policies.
- User Interface & Experience: Create intuitive, accessible front-end interfaces for BIM and digital construction applications using React.js, applying user-centred design principles and ensuring consistency with Amazon design systems.
- Performance Optimisation: Proactively identify bottlenecks in software performance and data pipelines; implement solutions that improve throughput, reduce latency, and ensure system reliability at scale.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct unit, integration, and end-to-end testing; implement automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines to ensure software reliability, security, and compliance with Amazon engineering standards.
- Documentation & Knowledge Management: Produce and maintain clear technical documentation covering code, APIs, system architecture, and integration patterns, enabling effective knowledge transfer across the BIM&D team.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with BIM specialists, GES engineers, data scientists, product managers, and Amazon technology teams to deliver solutions aligned with both technical standards and business objectives.
- Platform Maintenance & Continuous Improvement: Sustain and enhance existing tools and processes including Amazon PreConnector modules and ACC/BIM360 integrations, supporting GES functions such as Quality, Compliance, Sustainability, Risk Management, Scheduling, and Virtual Design Review.
Required qualifications/certifications: ➢ Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2–3 yrs hands-on experience with React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and Java Spring Framework for full-stack web application development.
- 1–2 yrs Practical experience designing and developing microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
- 1–2 yrs Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including IaaS and PaaS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and Amazon Redshift.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, or equivalent tooling.
- 1+ yr Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows including pull requests, code review, and branching strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to debugging and root-cause analysis.
