Payroll Administrator
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team at Richmond Accountancy Services Limited in Abergavenny.
This is a full-time, office-based position and would suit someone who already has practical experience running payrolls and is looking to develop their career within a friendly, established accountancy practice.
You will be responsible for managing payrolls for a portfolio of clients, covering businesses of different sizes and pay frequencies.
Key responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls
- Calculating salaries, wages, overtime, holiday pay, statutory payments and deductions
- Processing starters and leavers
- Preparing and submitting RTI returns to HMRC
- Managing workplace pension and auto-enrolment requirements
- Processing pension contributions and submissions to pension providers
- Dealing with payroll queries from clients and employees
- Preparing payroll reports, payslips and other relevant documentation
- Keeping payroll records accurate and up to date
- Ensuring payroll deadlines are met
- Liaising with HMRC and pension providers where required
Experience we're looking for
Previous hands-on payroll experience is essential . You should be comfortable managing payrolls and working to regular deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
Experience with IRIS Elements Payroll would be preferred, although this is not essential . We are very happy to consider applicants who have experience using other payroll software.
Experience dealing with workplace pensions and auto-enrolment is also important.
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable communicating directly with clients.
Qualifications & development
Formal payroll or accountancy qualifications are not essential if you have the right practical experience.
For someone who would like to gain further relevant professional qualifications, we are happy to support your development and fund appropriate qualifications and training .
